They say the more you know the wiser you become, they say that knowledge is power and the key to knowledge is a curious, eager mind and a broadened view that let you see past beyond the framework, past the whispers and the fixed norm. They say that life is too short and the world is too beautiful to remain unseen, unexplored. Each of these things; knowledge, ideas, whispers… What if I were to tell you that you can grasp this as long as you let your mind explore and you pick up books, one at a time.

There are many things in this word through which we can exert our ideas, thoughts and emotions but none will touch you as deeply as a well-loved book does. Sure, we live in a world that provides us with mangas, comics, manwhas, cinemas, documentaries and even access to movies right in our hands through our devices; each of these forms of entertainment are precious, thought provoking and even help us experience somethings. Purging us from our own deeply embedded emotions and stress of daily life as great thinkers of old like Aristotle would suggest.

However, have you ever tried reading a book that catches your interest and continues to draw you in with its siren snarled with each page you turn until your midnight bell rung and dawn break through your window, until you realize you have spent hours engrossed in a book, scrying through the intricate mind of the author, living in the world the author has created, tasting the emotions of the characters in the tip of your finger as if you were standing with them throughout their life, face with them the thick and thin.

Books have their way of twisting your emotions in a way the movie versions of these stories could not. The chief reason for this impression on books comes because you are the one creating the images of the book. Movies represent an image of these characters whom one might love or hate, either way they are fixed. However, with books; though the author sketches the background, the world and the characters too. The readers would always form an image in their minds that represent the perfect character, their reasonings filled in with the reader’s thoughts and experiences in life, the perfect scenes created by the best tailored images woven by each intricate mind of different individuals. Thus, this is the power of the imagination of the human mind, reality just fell short of that perfect representation.

Books also let us explore the world; unbarred by distance, possibilities and even time. It achieves this status through the use of the author’s words and the readers imagination. You can learn to hurt for fictional characters, you can explore the peak of Mt. Everest from a hospital bed, you can follow an exciting adventure and live the life of a young child during the harshest time in our History; simply by picking up books one at a time and learn to connect with your imagination.
