Good evening folks!! Hope you are doing well. Still having the Monday blues? I am here to make you a bit better by discussing about one of the healthiest breakfasts of India – Idli.

Idli is mostly common in south India even though it is available all over India. Idli is made out of a batter of Rice, Split Black Gram (Urad Dal). The batter will be prepared and kept overnight to make the Idli soft. This will make the Idli sour in taste. Idli will be steam cooked in a special utensil which has cavities in the Idli shape.

Idli will be served with spicy curries like sambar or coconut chutney. So many other varieties of Idli are available now a days which are made out of Rawa (granulated wheat), Millet etc. Idli is considered as one of the healthiest dishes as it is steam cooked and oil is not involved in cooking.
