Limit Your Kindness!

Know when to stop being kind. Once, a man shifted to a new locality and decided to take the metro to work until he gets familiar with the routes. That night, he noticed this homeless guy at the station. Sympathizing with his situation, the man offered him some money. The homeless guy thanked him. The next day, again the man saw the same homeless guy and offered him some food this time. He was thanked by the homeless guy for such a kind gesture of his. However, intrigued to start a conversation, the man asked the homeless guy about how he'd landed in such a situation. The homeless guy replied that he had landed in such a situation by showing love. The man didn't understand what it meant, so he questioned further. The homeless guy then went on explaining.

Apparently, throughout his life, the homeless guy made sure that everyone he was related to, was happy. He would give them the shirt off his back. But now that he was in need, the same people wouldn't even give a part of sleeves from the same shirt. He went on saying that it's better to get our own house built and invite others for shelter rather than handing them the bricks while building ours. If we don't, then one day we will turn around and look at the place where we were supposed to be having our house. But it would be a barren land, and then we'll be the ones looking for bricks. Hence, it is great to help others, but it's foolishness to forget our own problems meanwhile. It is wise to share your things with others rather than completely giving it off to them.
