Sex is Voldemort

I was talking to my friend the other day, about SEX. Yes, sex. Girls also talk about it; it's not like only boys have the copyright to talk about sex in public.

I don’t remember the time when I first encountered this word. But I am pretty sure. It was through TV. I guess I was 5 or 6 when my mom said that my sister was a result of her praying to the Gods for one more daughter. However, as my sister and I grew up, I had her believed that she was found in a dustbin. Well, that’s a lie every elder tell their younger siblings. But anyway, I was never introduced to the term sex, until class 8th, when reproduction in animals, came into the picture.

Where boys were freely discussing and talking about sex, girls were not even supposed to think about it. Puberty hits everyone, equally. Boys become sexually-oriented men and girls become sexually-oriented women.

Sex is not just for producing kids. There is also a factor of pleasure and satisfaction that no one sees. Growing up, I have seen and felt, girls being constantly told to mind their manners, and never to say the word SEX out loud. As if someone is saying Voldemort while standing in some Hogwarts common room. I remember the time when we were told to call that column in a form, like a gender and not sex. It was quite shameful, as per the Indian norms which no one knows who wrote. One question to all those people who don’t like people having sex for fun and talking about sex. Where do you think, the biggest best selling erotic novel, Kamasutra was written? And to ease the pain, that their heart will feel after realising that a girl is writing this article. Where exactly is it written that sex before marriage, sex for fun, threesome and friends with benefits is wrong? Khajuraho, a place which was solely built for sexual desires, has sculptures and positions that even pornhub and Brazzers can’t enact. Where, our ancient history, our mythology was so open-minded, these samaajic mariyaadaein has rewritten and reformed the sayings in our scriptures.

SEX is no longer a process meant for having children. It's now a status symbol, which signifies what good of a person are you. Talking about sex makes you impure and unethical. So what are you? Unethical or samaajic limitations waale puppets?
