Climate change seems to be the problem of today. Due to the increase in pollution and hence, greenhouse gases, planet Earth is experiencing rapid heating and it’s innumerable devastating consequences. From the melting of ice caps to flooding and drought, climate change is relevant to all sections of society even if they are not directly experiencing its effects.

Scientists have high confidence that global temperatures will continue to rise for decades to come, largely due to greenhouse gases produced by human activities. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which includes more than 1,300 scientists from the United States and other countries, forecasts a temperature rise of 2.5 to 10 degrees Fahrenheit over the next century. Such changes in climate change are expected to continue and even accelerate in the future.

Climate change will lead to massive changes in precipitation patterns. This could mean excessive rain and flooding in some areas and lack of it in others. Another result is increased in heatwaves and droughts. This will lead to loss of life and a shortage of food. Hurricanes are expected to become stronger and more intense, causing immense damages to life and property. The most horrifying change is that the Arctic is expected to become ice-free. This results in a loss of natural beauty, flora, and fauna.

Students are also expected to face the results of climate change. Studies show that climate change also has psychological consequences. It leads to an increased risk of anxiety, depression and PTSD. Especially in developing countries, which face the results of climate change and are unable to rehabilitate immediately, students, have to forego an education to help in rebuilding. In the future, climate change will become a problem that is as rampant as crime and corruption.

Students now have to dedicate a significant amount of time to slow this fast-paced change. This is expected to cause anxiety, hypertension, and other such problems. It is necessary to formulate and apply solutions to the problem of climate change so that the future of our planet is secured.
