The Heal documentary Netflix added is actually not a Netflix original. It was Directed by American actress-director and producer Kelly Noonan Gores and released in 2017. Goores not only directs the Heal Movie but also executive produces and hosts it as the face of the documentary. She is also the writer and has managed to rope in names like Dr. Deepak Chopra, Anita Moorjani, Marianne Williamson, Dr. Michael Beckwith, Dr. Bruce Lipton, Dr. Joe Dispenza, Anthony William ‘ Medical Medium’, Dr. Bernie Siegel, Gregg Braden, Dr. Joan Borysenko, Dr. David Hamilton, Dr. Kelly Brogan, Rob Wergin, Dr. Kelly Turner, Peter Chrone, Dr. Darren Weissman, and Dr. Jeffrey Thompson. The ensemble cast is considered self-proclaimed experts in various fields ranging from positive thought-healing to divine power healing.

Before moving further and describing the plot of the Heal documentary Netflix added, it is imperative to understand what exactly one means by the power of the subconscious.

What is the Power of Subconscious?

Healing Yourself

Experts in the field say this – the power of subconscious can heal you from within without you even knowing what’s happening. Sounds crazy, right? Well, not entirely. While these tall claims of healing are not proven, there are cases where patients believe that western medicines did not work and it was only the divine power of healing or the power of their own subconscious mind that saved them. The power of the subconscious, it is said, can be used through meditation, relieving your body of all stress and through yoga.

How does all this work? Experts claim that your brain and soul are much more powerful than we are led to believe – that by just believing that we can, we will be able to achieve what we desire. What does any of this have to do with the Heal documentary? Read on to find out the plot and concept of the Heal documentary Netflix added as recently as February.

What Is the Heal Documentary All About?

Heal features experts in the field of alternate medicines talking about the power of healing through thoughts, positivity, stress-relief, soul-cleansing, divinity, and similar concepts. While medical science does not believe in these concepts, the story of Heal Movie follows three patients suffering from chronic illnesses and their journey of healing through these methods. The guest-doctors/experts also talk about their own journey and how these powers helped them get better. It talks basically of the power within each of us – the power of self-belief and of optimistic thoughts that can have a drastic effect on the immunity power of our body.

Kelly Nonan Goores – the host and director herself believes in these concepts and thus made the Heal documentary to spread the importance of hope, optimism, spiritualism, divinity, and stress-relief in real life. There are some concepts that do not sit well with our traditional mindset – such as how Kelly says that fatal diseases like cancer and multiple sclerosis are caused because of the eating habits of today.  “I feel like it’s changed from the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon to the one degree of cancer. I mean, has our world and food become so toxic that illness is inevitable?”, says Goores, and sometime later in the Heal documentary begins a huge section on healthy eating habits and how they can save your life.

For those who believe in western medicines, they will find Heal conceptualized and birthed in a completely parallel universe where the only causes of diseases are food, negative energy, lack of faith et al. Sometimes, though, the movie becomes a shade of eye-raising unrealistic, like during the segment of the author and international speaker Anita Moorjani.

Moorjani talks about how her body was riddled with tumors due to her lymphoma and all this because she had leftover negative feelings for her deceased father. She further adds that – wait for it – she, in a comatose state, traveled to heaven and made peace with her father. And when she woke up, she was completely healed! Hard to believe?

It gets even harder when a little research tells you that Heal conveniently left out was that it was not an overnight healing process like she made it out to be. Her doctors claim her lungs were completely dried out and then chemotherapy was performed on her.

While the doctor treating her admits that Moorjani was dying and recovered remarkably, he is a bit hesitating to admit it was the power of healing. It must be noted here that Moorjani had been refusing chemotherapy for 3 and a half years, and her doctor – Oncologist hematologist T.K. Chan form the Hong Kong Sanatorium Hospital always believed that with lymphoma it was never too late, only if she agreed to chemotherapy.

So, was she healed because she finally agreed to it? Or because she made peace with her deceased father? There are multiple case studies presented in Heal that are hard to believe, but each story is truly fascinating and screams of giving hope amidst the haplessness.

Plans of Netflix to have Heal in Hindi

Netflix seems to have no plans of dubbing the Heal Movie in Hindi. It is only available in the English language with English subtitles as of now.  Whether you watch it to understand a different way of lifestyle and a different belief system, or just because of the inspiring and emotional journey that is sure to leave you watery-eyed at the end, with the Heal documentary Netflix has added one of the most inspiring movies.

The movie shares messages of love, positivity, faith, stress-relief and more through real-life examples and stories of patients on the verge of death who dared to choose this path and were – if you believe the story – rewarded with life over death. So that was all about the Heal Movie and its plot. Do you believe in these concepts? Do you think all, or most part of this is true?
